WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS COURSE?

The course is designed for midwives and other advanced practice providers who desire to learn more about the fundamentals and advancements of midwives point of care ultrasound.

The Midwives POCUS course is a didactic session taught by a doctorally-prepared advanced practice nurse-midwife and registered diagnostic medical sonographer. Assisted by other ARDMS-certified sonographers and educators. The curriculum for this course includes all the domains required for the Midwife Ultrasound Certification.

WHAT WILL THE INNOVATED ULTRASOUND MIDWIVES POCUS COURSE CONSIST OF?

The Midwives POCUS custom-designed class that targets the basic information and skills needed for advanced practice providers (midwives) to perform point of care ultrasound for women in an OB/GYN setting. The course consists of two, 6-hour classes on consecutive days, Friday and Saturday. Our learning environment includes hands-on training with live models. The sessions including basic ultrasound physics, use of the ultrasound machine, and types of scans (gyn, first, second, and third trimester). After the end of each didactic session, you will be provided individual hands-on training. On registration, you will receive online access to pre-class educational materials to review prior to attending. These will be available to you on Google Classroom. Our curriculum includes all the domains required for the Midwife Ultrasound Certification.

WHERE WILL THE COURSE TAKE PLACE?

Our classroom is located inside TriStar Southern Hills Hospital in Nashville, TN at 397 Wallace Road. We are located in Building C Suite 214. Participants will have special access to our virtual classroom on the Google Classroom platform before and after the course. This will allow participants to complete prerequisite materials, have access to all learning modules before and after the course, and be given extra resource content.

WHAT WILL MY REGISTRATION FEE FOR THE MIDWIVES POCUS COURSE INCLUDE?

Each participant will receive:

⊣ Lunch will be provided each day for participants
⊣ Basic knowledge and skills to begin using point of care ultrasound in an OB/GYN practice setting
⊣ Special access to our ongoing resource page on Google Classroom for didactic content, media, and updates in midwives point of care ultrasound
⊣ Textbook and educational media recommendations, but no required purchase of printed materials
⊣ Subscription to monthly e-quiz with interesting images and case reviews
⊣ Ability to network with other providers and learn under Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
⊣ Post-class access to our virtual classroom for additional hands-on skills practice
⊣ Skills check off sessions (after passing the Midwife Certification Exam)


WHAT IS THE COST FOR COURSE REGISTRATION?

The InnovatED Ultrasound Midwives POCUS Course registration cost for each participant is $799. Participants will receive 12 AMA CME credit hours for the two, 6-hour courses on consecutive days, Friday and Saturday.
