Having more than 30 years of combined ultrasound training experience, Rob Ferre MD and Gene Spain, RDMS, RDCS, RVT have teamed up to create a unique ultrasound training experience for physicians, PAs and NPs who practice in the acute care setting. There are many ultrasound courses that offer 1, 2 or even 3 day learning opportunities. These are usually taught at hotels in various vacation "hot spots" across the country. They utilize a combination of lecture and hands on experience using ideal models that are "easy" to scan. These models have normal anatomy and serve as a convenient tool for hands on scanning for those just learning ultrasound.
But, what happens when the new learner returns back home and tries to incorporate these newly learned skills in their own clinical environment on patients that are very different than the "ideal models" they first imaged at an ultrasound course thousands of miles away in a nice hotel ballroom? How do they know if a pathologic condition is present if they've never actually seen it other than presented in a lecture? What about the physician who learned a few basic exams in residency, but feels they need to brush up on their skills by seeing both normal and pathological conditions?
We have created several unique learning opportunities to address these challenges that cannot be found anywhere else. We have been able to create these exceptional experiences based upon our unique capabilities and skill set and are confident that physicians and midlevel providers can confidently and competently learn ultrasound using our unique program.
